Nothing says Christmas time like my Aunt Mamie's Orange Slice Cake. You can find the recipe in my Volume 2 cookbook. Try it! I bet you will like it as much as we do!
I don't like dates either, but I LOVE this cake just the way it is. Reminds me of my Mother-in-law Dee & my brother-in law Charles, both in Heaven now. She made this cake f him every Christmas. It's delicious!
YumYumYummy in my tummy!! What memories this brings!! My Mom used to make this orange slice cake! The last one was prob around 2005. Dementia started showing symptoms in 2007. She passed in 2013.
I made this Christmas Eve and oh my stars, it is DELICIOUS!! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful treat! I’m sure I’ll be making this for years to come!
I’ll bet you could use raisins and it would be just as good. I’ll say tho, you don’t really taste the dates (especially if you chop them finely) in this cake as the orange slices and nuts are the stars of the show!

I started baking this cake as a teenager in the 60s. My Orange Slice Cake weighed 8 pounds! My family loves it for holidays or any time 🍥🍰

Mama Sue...I'm not a fan of dates. Do you think I could use raisins? And if so, how many?
